This is ... By: blakemooney. on 07 Jan 09, 19:19:18 This is unquestionably the most popular song on youtube as sung by a Verdi baritone in full voice. The tone of Shore's voice is as? beautiful as Merril's! Singing at this high level of skill results in an embracing warm sound that tell us more about the words and singer than a large book. The song tells us--through the singer's voice--about life itself and does it in a way that invigorates the singer and listener alike. That's how and why we come together freely when great singing is heard.

Soviet-film is one of the best, if not THE best filmed opera's ever.

By: erasistratus1. on 09 Mar 08, 06:12:33 Mikhailov's voice is unique in every way, instantly recognizable not just for its depth, cadence and timbre but for its poignant tone -- evident in every aria. Of all the tenor ... By: aakalan1. on 26 Oct 11, 04:03:59 Of all the tenor voices I've heard in more than 40 years of attending and performing opera, his is the closest I've heard to the remarkable sound of the young Jussi Bjoerling.
Unlike so many tenors who have a? wooden tone at the base of their voice, Lanza had this incredibly warm, human and acessible tone and riding on top of that, a brilliant, perfectly produced, ringing high end with a vibrato as measured as a metronome.
There are many fine instruments, but few with as much heart.

Mario's 'Our Father ... By: atlatahuac. on 27 Jun 11, 03:26:18 Mario's 'Our Father', another moving, inspiring interpretation, features a skill almost unique to him, in my v. humble, not expert opinion. From 'wheeech art eeen Heh-vin"? (alto tenor, but tender not shrill) to 'Hallow - weddd be e e e e thy name" there is a brightening then a darkening of the voice ... something his contemporary critics said was astonishing to hear in person, as if he were suddenly joined by a baritone. I've listened for this with other greats ...
His diction was superb!
