I was wondering though, is it possible to slide the blade over the paper without cutting it?
I mean do you need to apply pressure to make the cut?
I need a paper trimmer for cutting thin sheets of plastic which will warp if I cut all the way through them (It did when I tried a rotary trimmer), so I only want to score the? plastic so I can snap it.

1st, the clear plastic finger guard is AWESOME you hold it down with slight pressure and it not only helps with "fingerprints" but is "locks In" your paper so there is less chance of the paper moving or shifting (esp. is using multiple or thick paper)
2nd ALWAYS pull your blade toward the "bumper guard" don't start at the guard and go up.
