Thanks for? the info on oxgall!!
By: OneDawkinsFan. on 17 May 12, 14:43:43
@realisticart: That "explosion of yellow" you mention is a result of the amount? of oxgall in ur yellow paint. Add oxgall to any other paint, and you have the same effect with that other paint. Or just use simple water with oxgall!

I use Winsor and Newton watercolor paints, which are available at most art supply stores. There? are also many other good brands to choose from. Good luck and have fun with the project!

Ok but what about paint too me? water color paint is just water down paint is there a type of paint out there for this type of stuff or a brand i guess you would prefer over another?

Great question! I've experimented with many different types of? paper and have found Arches 140 lb. cold press paper to be the best. It is the ideal weight; but more important, the combination of the paper weight and glue results in a structurally strong form. Regular printing paper will probably be too light-weight to achieve good results. You may not need to use Arches, but you should stick to cold press watercolor paper of either 90 or 140 lb. weight.

could you use any other kind of paper? like would normal printer paper work? O_o

Actually I did soak the paper before I applied the watercolor. The paper should be wet so that the colors freely intermingle, and I avoid blending the colors with my paintbrush. Soon I'll be posting a video demonstrating how to construct a watercolor paper bracelet, and I'll also review the watercolor painting process in that new video. Thanks? for watching!!
By: PennyQuest. on 10 Jan 12, 02:05:28
Was the paper soaked before you began? It would be nice to learn that step, if you could? please. Thanks!

Salt is commonly used to impart special effects on watercolor paints. The process is interesting but is too long to put here. Please check my blog for a posting on the use of salt. Thanks for the question!?

Why did you? put salt on it ?
By: BoopdidoopGirl. on 26 Jul 11, 14:57:57
I've watched your videos many times. The technique has such a variety of tasks..from creating the water color to contructing an object from paper and glue. Great for busy hands. Thanks for being so detailed in your description of each? step. I hope that you might finish explaining how to do the wax channel if you have time someday. I have come up with a variation but it's not as flexible. Thanks again!
