maybe it is just because i have only played the guest pass version of d3, but i didn't feel that you needed much power to run it. i only have a gt430 and an athlon 2 630 oced to 3ghz and i run the guest pass version at nearly max settings with a very stable and nice framerate. when i finally? go up to a gtx550 i expect max settings with no problems at all. but my experience with it is likely because it is essentially the demo. but the game just didn't seem very demanding.

I'm confused. When I monitor the fans in asus suite ii, the reading for "CPU FAN OPT" says "N/A".Why is that exactly? Also, during this overclocking process, when windows boots? up, a purple screen shows for a split second. Then it just continues with the boot process. You're better off waiting for Piledriver if you want to go with an AMD system, the initial testing shown? from the new Trinity APUs using a very immature Piledriver CPU core show between a 5% - 15% increase in overall performance. If you have to build now I'd recommend the Phenom II 960t. You're going to get better single threaded performance and unless you're running linux or BSD, better overall performance. Plus the 960t has the chance of being unlocked into a hexacore :D

I have no doubt that the Intel system would excel in CPU intensive task, thats not what I was referencing in my original post. Calling it a pure Intel system isn't fair, its Intel + Nvidia, give credit where credit is due. Again, I think running more test than PCMark or 3DMark would give people a more honest impression? of these systems and their intended uses. I'm not complaining because AMD lost; I don't care which platform is better; I just want to see test based on real world scenarios.

Depends on what you're doing with it. If you just want one for gaming get the less expensive of the two. It won't give you much of? a performance difference, but for rendering things out and putting the cpu under max load I think the fx 4100 may be better. Look for reviews on both of them just to be sure which you would prefer.

What you're really paying for with a mac is a software environment designed from the ground up to run perfectly on the hardware its on. Absolutely "price-per-hertz" is unbalanced, first note Apple releases a new computer once per year which gives everyone a lot of? time to play "we're better". Second note, you get similar performance with less on a Mac. My $1999 PC runs Photoshop really well, sometimes i'll get a random crash with a cryptic error, no problem it starts it up right away again. My $1199 iMac runs Photoshop at the same speed, runs smoother with bigger projects, has half the "hertz" but better performance.

Not necisarily having 4 fans wont do much for you double thick rad and 2 high rpm and high air flow fans will compete and be if not better than an h100 plus the tubing is MUCH better on the antec :) and you can customize how you want it to run and at what temps...Trust me you wont be let down by? it if you get it... i have my 6100 at 4.7 ghz and i have 1.47 volts in it... only 50c on the cores under full load... thats cold haha

I believe the 670 can only do standard SLI (2 cards), because it's essentially 2 680's in 1 card. Go look at pics theres only 1 SLI slot on? the reference models I believe :) Could be wrong but hope this helps

Actually they perform at about the same level no matter what resolution from the? review I've seen. The 7970 is beaten in every way with these new kepler cards. The zotac amp 670 in particular is amazing. On the mobile gpu side however amd is kicking some serious nvidia ass with their 7970m :D Also in the midrange with the 7850 and 7870. Nvidia doesn't have a response in those sectors.

Get the new asus direct cu II 670. It performs better but consumes less power then the 7970. Also you get nice features like? adaptive vysinch,fxaa,txaa etc. The 670 is much better bang for the buck.
