"entirely new basic panel" ahem.... nope. that look's pretty similar to the one you get when, you know... you open Camera Raw files in CS.... 5 i believe? 5.5? i don't remember. anyhow, that's not new. at all. it's just been rewritten to work with cellphones.... if you don't know, if you had a CR2 (Camera Raw? format) from a DSLR, this is the interface you get when opening in either CS 5 or CS 5.5. i'm not impressed.
