i? like the a6 approach
By: mira0chan. on 18 May 12, 15:58:56
There's always a defense for black in the beginning. If? he's playing super aggressive with his queen early, it's usually possible to see threats to the queen before long. Just play good defense and wait for him to make a mistake. Keep a record of your games so you can see where you went wrong and learn from mistakes.
By: awaisnh. on 17 May 12, 20:18:40
Sounds like he's trying to execute the 'Scholar's Mate'? which I'm sure you've heard of. You can easily prevent his aggressive nature by playing the french defense, or even the king's indian. Check them out.

download rybka and play the exact same moves as your friend does? :)
By: Gangstopper. on 11 May 12, 20:44:39
Me and my friend like playing chess competitively (sometimes 5x a day!) and he will always take the FASTEST and most AGGRESIVE opening move. He will play (as white) d4 and immediatly play his? queen and bishop. This just wipes out my entire line (most of the time) and can leave me devestated within 30 seconds of playing. It leaves him open, but I have no idea what to combat this nature... What should I do?

The music is enya. Or the fuggies? remade it into a rap remix.

Start playing a lot of chess again (long games, like 30 minutes per player), study a little bit of opening theory (not too much,? just the main lines of 1-2 openings or defenses)!
By: mephistophile33. on 23 Apr 12, 23:37:06
I when i was young i played alot of chess, playing in tournaments etc, but I havent played for about 6 years, and never learnt any strategy or openings. What do you think is? the best way to pick it back up again are, because at the moment its a bit of a minefield?
By: TimidJunkster. on 21 Apr 12, 19:55:25
The fianchetto is a staple of many "hypermodern" openings, whose philosophy is to delay direct occupation of the center with the plan of undermining and destroying the opponent's central outpost. It also regularly occurs in Indian defences. The fianchetto is less common in open games (1.e4 e5) but the king's bishop is sometimes fianchettoed by Black in? the Spanish Game or by White in an uncommon variation of the Vienna Game.
By: SupDePub1. on 20 Apr 12, 08:43:43
hum... in the episode the jerk plays bird's opening (which is dumb) and House played the sicilian defense, to which? the jerk replied "sign of an idiot". then house replies "it's not lupus"
By: copred. on 20 Apr 12, 06:15:17
it's a "fiachetto". It's where you position your pawns in a V formation and put the bishop? in between them. It's a very strong position and really hard to attack.
By: TasteTheCrainbow. on 19 Apr 12, 23:46:47
fianchetto?

By: thetalkingbathroom. on 16 Apr 12, 21:17:00
Wait wait wait wait wait, if white does decide to do Qxd4 instead? of Nxd4, and black plays Nc6, couldnt white pin the knight with Bb5 so it cant take the queen?
By: lordwaynethegreat. on 14 Apr 12, 07:02:13
