Is this the same as shrinky dinks? because I have bunch of those that my boys and I like to play with periodically.?. I mean I should just try it and see if it would work.? Maybe I will do a video and reply to you with a the video I do. Just think it seems an awful lot like shrinky dinks?? Sharon

Hi Allyson... This is sooooooooo cute... You could use a cheap small toaster oven ~ that would work too ~ and you wouldn't need to go up and down the stairs... I have? some of this stuff also from a long time ago...I think it is from when ALEENE'S still had a craft show on tv...lol...lol...think I will go try to find it and make some charms... I don't think it has to be staz on ink because the directions say you can? trace. I just always use staz on for things like this.

Hey~ it will stop shrinking when it is done. I heard that you could lay something heavy on to the top if it does not flatten enough. I have made about 6 so far and all have flatten out by themself while heating, but of course, on video it wanted to act up ;) most the time it does not take this long to heat. I think I caused it? by trying to hold it down instead of letting it fly around the table from the heat gun...I have started putting them in a small box and it works good

i had horrid results with using archival ink so I think staz on would work the best, I do? not have staz on so I dunno my try was epic fail lol but I will try again using bigger stamp images and i love the idea of using copics, very smart! :) thanks for sharing alyysn

I've done this. They really do come out cute, don't they? If they are still not flat after you heat and shrink them,? just but the wooden stamp(wood side) on it to flatten it while still hot.

very cool! i love how you used the? heat tool versus the kitchen oven... i hate having to heat up a whole oven for something so small. hehehe!!! How do you know when it's done, when it just stops shrinking? does it end up flat in the end when it cools off or do you "flatten" it out while it's still hot? thanks for sharing this, now I want to head to michael's for some shrink film! LOL :-)
