Yes, and even the bandmembers of Gathering have said that Radiohead is one of their influences. But then again so is shoegaze, like Slowdive, 80's dreampop/gothrock, like Dead Can Dance, Pink Floyd-style progrock, trip-hop like Mezzanine-era Massive Attack and post-rock, like scottish Mogwai. And imo Gathering is? not a bad imitation of Radiohead, they have their own, unique style, there is just a lot of musical influences in it.

Actually Doom Metal and drone are linked to Noise rock and shoegazing trends from 80s and mid of 90s. So, there is a kind of link with? that stuff.
