I also LOVE this. My kids laugh at me because? my drawings always consisted of stick people, and even stick animals. LOL! Needless to say I'm not an artist. But I think even I can do this thanks to your awesome tutorial. Thanks so much!! I had trouble finding that glue at first. Joann's didn't have it but you can order it on-line from them. I did end up finding it? at Michael's and as soon as I got home I got out my mats that were not at all sticky and tried it. It worked GREAT!! I like and wanted to let others know that it REALLY doesn't take that much. Only dip the foam brush in once and spread that out. It didn't seem like it was enough and I was tempted to add more but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't.

I just did this and it worked perfectly. I only wanted to do one mat, so? I combined 1/2 tsp of glue with a 1/2 tsp of water. That was just about the perfect amount for the 6 x 12 mat. I rinsed out the container and rinsed off the brush, there was not enough to even bother saving. Thanks so much for this easy and affordable suggestion. :)

Laurie, The warranty on the cricuit says not to do this as you? will void the warranty. Will using this product eventually affect the Cricut, or is it just that the company is worried that we won't be buying their mats anymore? How long you have been doing this? I cut it with the backing stuck the to mat - the only time I ever us "flip" for vinyl is when I adhere it to the inside of something like a car window....otherwise? flip isn't necessary :)

@hippiechick i hope this doesn't sound gross, but how toxic is the paper we use? I really don't think it's that serious. I have a cricut cake and an expression. I feel like an idiot because they were both expensive and they are IDENTICAL! Food is wrapped in paper? and probably contaminated by much worse in the factories they're made in.

You CAN, but it would probably make the machine unsafe for use to cut fondant again. Even if you changed the housing/blade and used a regular Cricut mat, all the particles and chemicals from the paper would most likely get into the C. Cake machine. Thus, making it unsafe. (My personal opinion/observation, but should call and? ask Provocraft to be sure.)

That is correct you? can no longer purchase any third party software to work with your cricut machine. You can thank provocraft for that! However there are many other superior cutters out there other than the cricut. And the third party software works with those cutters and the creators of the cutters are more than happy that programs like SCAL and MTC are making programs for their machine. Check out blackcat cougar, KNK Zing and many more cutters that are available.

i used another brand i believe and i remember the lady online saying that you have to? put a bit of lint or something otherwise it'll be way to strong but I've done just that and it works fine :) also in that video she had mentioned to cover the areas for the rollers just incase you're not using a 12 by 12 paper because the stickyness would get on the rollers but its worked for me :)

From my experience it? DID NOT Work, I ordered mine through custom crops after watching these videos. The removal spray worked great making it clean and smooth but when I applied the re stick spray, I cut out some items on my cricut. When I went to remove my cut outs the glue peeled up with it and left glueless areas on my mat. I just wished when people do their free product reviews they were honest and saved me wasting my money.

That looked very time consuming and it didn't appear the gunk was coming up very easily to me. How long did it take to scrape the mat? I'm not too sure I'd want to be spraying aerosol products indoors, it's very unhealthy to be breathing and talking while spraying something like that...also it? drifts and gets on other stuff so be very careful. :)

After having tried several "sticky"methods myself I have come to the reallization that the whole mat does? not need to be sticky to make this work on the cricut. I have been very successful with just using the blue painters tape that you illustrated to hold down the corners and sides of the paper. I have been successful with this with different types papers. I learned this from working in a sign shop for several years. Give it a try I think you all will be happy with the result!

You said you are weird about using that spray around your little ones... I have used Extra Virgin Olive Oil to remove gluey stuff from glass, plastic, ect in the past. Works really well, and is all natural. I don't? know if it would work on Cricut mats, but it's worth a try if you don;t want to use chemicals.

I think that sounds possible, make the image 1/2 to 1 inch larger and then cut after embossing. I? am going to use some foam I purchased thats less than 1/4 and try it but the cricut may cut my pad. Maybe cut by hand. Thanks for a good suggestion.

aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh - I only just in the last quarter of an hour found out about? embossing with the Cricut and I can feel my insides bouncing around and my skin is tingling. This is MEGA exciting for me - I'm so glad somebody else squels in excitement at things like this :-) What a great use for old blades. I WANT those metal sheets from Spellbinders too. Gotta go try some myself. This is wonderful!

This is so cool. I bet you could use an 8 x 11 foam sheet if you don't have nestabilities (sp?) pad and? achieve the same thing . Not to mention you might be able to get a larger embossed area. TFS.

Just watched your video. Super fun. Couldn't you not unload the mat, flip the blade back to the cut end, and select shadow for the same image and it would cut the image for you. Haven't tried this, but sounds like? it might work???

Megan, Thank you for posting this! I love scrapbboking..... I've always done everything by hand ...Thats How my Grandma taught me along time ago! I now just got into it again.I'm Really trying to decided which machine to purchuse first... I have a question on the ink..... Do you go threw alot ink, and if you use say, all your color? ink can you still print in Black ink? Are you able to puchuse the ink @ stores? Which one would buy, if you were starting up again ? Thank you for this video. I use the Gypsy and I am glad that you pointed out the Imagine is not yet compatiable. I appreciate your pointing out the "pros and "cons", because I had seriously considered asking for the Imagine for Christmas. I am sure the "bugs" will be worked out, since Provo is a great company. Hi Megan! I absolutely ADORE my new Imagine machine. I did get a defective machine originally, but Provo Craft was very prompt in replacing it. One comment about your review... I have to disagree regarding the pattern cartridges. I really,? really love that the cartridges come with coordinated colors and patterns. I'm pretty color coordination challenged, and having these matching colors and patterns at my fingertips is a huge benefit for me. Can't wait to see future Imagine updates!

Thanks so much for this review! What I love about seeing a review like this is that we get the information we need and you're not trying to sell us a product. I would love to have the CI but haven't even had my CE a year---it will be a year in a couple of months and I'm still learning? things about the CE. Great video!! I am glad the correct word is getting out about the machine, and even though I thought it could do some other things I am still glad I bought it and will not send it back, and? like the gypsy they will improve it with the updates so I am very happy!

Thanks for this video, I've thought about all of those same points! My Imagine had some issues, and am getting it exchanged (it just kept getting off track while cutting). I'm still excited about it! It does take A LOT of space! I would like if the? control/interface gave the same options as my Gypsy (weld, etc...)

I ordered my Cricut Expressions last night (I'm a? It's all good! I just got my cricut like a week ago. So the first time I used it? I broke the mat, but that is to be expected. I had no idea what I was doing!!!!!!!!!!!! After studying youtube videos hopefully I can get the hang of it!

I am so sorry that your mat? broke. When you are bending your mat, you want it to be a gentle bend, just enough to make your paper lift a little bit. I have been using the Cricut since it came out and this is how I have been removing my cuts since then. I found that when I do this, my cardstock does not curl. It sort of pops off.
