Qurans are poorly translated. I don't know of any that are correct throughout. The Quran has both a literal and a figurative meaning. Surat Al-e Imran 3:7. Only those who God gives the understanding of the figurative? have the true meaning and the Quran is living so it applies to all times. It is not historical. Without the understanding of the figurative or allegorical all we have is the literal superficial meaning which is quite limited. The Son of Man has given the meaning to many parables.

Yes. These parables are what the Quran calls mutashabihat which means allegorical or figurative. And God promises that only those whom He gives the knowledge to know the meaning of these parables as a proof of their identity and if it was possible for anyone other than those individuals to interpret these then there would be no need for the infallible and proof of? The question isn't about a desire to sew discord between man and wife. The question is one of making the prohibited (haram) allowed (halal) and the allowed prohibited.
