@anhannaford thanks? audrey!!! my grandmother did encaustic painting when i was little, but hers looked like a freakin french country-side. she ROCKED!!!! i really love that im carrying on tradition, ya know? miss her. the song is by the kooks... I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and all of their stuff is good. you might actually know who they are though, they have a song called "naive" that has gotten a lot of radio airplay lately. i dont listen to the radio though. just ipod. ;)

@littleredwagonstudio also... i used the sealer i got and it seems to work pretty well. i just sold 6 encaustic cards and will be sending you one as well... i will make sure it is well protected and in case it melts it wont ruin everything else. and.. i didnt get to video or open your package today. ive been busy trying to figure out mailing out the cards and painting i sold. so YAY!!! im really super freaked out by it! but sooo happy!!!! ;) So, hopefully tomorrow!!!? im dying!!! heehee

@TamiDawnA oh tami you gotta try it. if you decide you want to ease into it, i would be happy to tell you how and to get you with a us distributor. he is amazing and i order all my stuff from him. HE is an amazing artist. but, yes it can be expensive... you can ease in though. you dont have to have all the tools at once. i found it better not to have them all actually. it gave me time to learn one before i got the? next, etc. tfw!!!

@theoneandonlygrand Yes Pam...it certainly isnt cheap to get started. ;) I have been doing this for a? few years. I got into it because my grandmother use to do this. She is no longer with us, so this is kind of my way of keeping her artistic talents alive, ya know? ;) She was amazing at this... she made amazing scenes and they looked sooooo real. Masculine Birthday Card...

I have a really hard time with cards or pieces for men... not that my stuff is super girlie, but I know some of you know what I mean. ;) So, the Tim Holtz texture folders and stamps sets helped a lot! lol The clock on the bottom left was stamped, cut out, then embossed with UTEE 3 times. I'm currently addicted to that technique lately. ;)

@vickyoftexas I know... I have the hardest time. I realy like using gasket sheet material from the? auto store on masculine cards too. It looks like leather. I might do a tutorial on it, cause it would make GREAT covers for minis as well. Or for hinges. It is almost like grungeboard but not as cork-like. Anyway, Im so glad you liked the card. @KraftyKatsy thank you so much! i know the utee is great huh? i dont have the melting pot, so i versamark? and pour and heat... many times. lol i embossd the back of the clock with my stylus, like you do to flowers, it gave it some dimension in addition to the utee. i like the effect and will be doing that a lot more. i did some gears too. first in clear, 3 times... then with gold and then black, they came out super cool! love embellishments but just refuse to pay that much for them. lol tfw~
